01Information we collect

We collect as little as possible to run SaveVideo:

• Links you submit. The video address you paste, so we can find its downloadable formats.
• Basic technical data. IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, recorded in server logs for security and performance.
• Messages you send us. Your name, email address and message when you use the contact form. The form also sends the topic you choose, the video link if you add one, and your IP address and browser details (browser and operating system), from which we find your country.
• Your settings. Theme, language, default quality and display switches, kept in small cookies in your browser and sent with each page so the page shows the way you set it.

We don't ask for an account, and we never collect payment details.

02How we use information

• To find and prepare the video formats you ask for.
• To keep the service running, fast and secure, including preventing abuse and automated scraping.
• To understand, in aggregate, which features are used so we know what to improve.
• To reply to messages you send us.

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles.

03Cookies and browser storage

SaveVideo uses small cookies. Most remember your settings: theme, language, default quality and the display switches in Settings. They are sent to our server with each page, so it can show the page the way you set it, and they last up to a year. A few others keep the service working. If Recent downloads is switched on, that list stays in your browser's own storage on this device. We may use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without identifying you. If we ever use cookies that require consent where you live, we'll ask first.

04Videos you download

We don't keep copies of downloaded files after the download finishes, and we don't keep any record that connects you to what you downloaded.

05Third-party services

We use a small number of providers to run the site. When you download from a platform such as YouTube or TikTok, that platform's own privacy policy applies to its content.

06Data retention

Server logs are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted. Contact messages are kept only as long as we need to answer you. Settings cookies last up to a year, or until you clear them.

07Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to some processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We answer within 30 days.

08Children's privacy

SaveVideo isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page.
