FAQ

Questions about downloading from Instagram Reels

Can I download Reels from private accounts?

No. The Instagram Reels downloader can only save public Reels and posts, the ones anyone can open without an Instagram account. SaveVideo doesn’t log in to Instagram, so it can’t save a Reel from a private account, or anything that Instagram shows only to logged-in users.

What quality are Reels saved in?

Up to 2160p, depending on the Reel. For an Instagram Reels download, SaveVideo lists what Instagram has for the Reel, highest first, and the Reel saves as an MP4. The Reels we tested on 5 October 2026 offered 1080p to 2160p, and an Instagram MP4 in 1080p downloaded in full.
