About this downloader

VK videos, and why they take longer

SaveVideo is a VK video downloader that saves VK videos as MP4 files in up to 1080p, or as MP3 when you only want the sound. Paste a link from vkvideo.ru or vk.com and pick a quality.

Give it about 20 seconds

In our test on 5 October 2026, VK took about 21 seconds to read a video and list its qualities. That is normal for the VK video downloader, and the wait is the same for MP3.

Six qualities and MP3

The video we tested offered six qualities, from 144p to 1080p, plus MP3. Sizes aren’t shown for VK videos, so choose by quality.

Videos, not music

This page saves VK videos. Songs from VK’s music section aren’t covered.

FAQ

Questions about downloading from VK

Why does VK take longer than other sites?

VK videos take SaveVideo about 20 seconds to read, against a few seconds for most sites. Wait for the list of qualities to appear. Pasting the link again cancels the first try and starts the wait over, so the list takes even longer to appear.

Can I save a VK video as MP3?

Yes. Once the qualities appear, pick MP3 instead of a video quality, and you get the sound on its own as an MP3 file. The VK video downloader offered MP3 in five bitrates for the video we tested, so you can keep a song or an interview without the picture.

Do I need a VK account?

No. The VK video downloader doesn’t log in to VK, so you don’t need a VK account and never sign in to anything. Public videos work. SaveVideo can’t save videos in closed groups, or videos shared only with friends, because it can’t see them without an account.
