About this downloader

What the Twitch VOD downloader saves

SaveVideo is a Twitch VOD downloader that saves past broadcasts (VODs) and clips. Paste the link, pick a quality up to 1080p, and the MP4 downloads in your browser. For a VOD you can also save just the sound as MP3.

Clips

The Twitch VOD downloader also takes clip links, from clips.twitch.tv and from a channel’s clip page. The clip we tested on 5 October 2026 came in 1080p. SaveVideo can’t save clips as MP3 today.

VODs

The past broadcast we tested listed 240p to 1080p, plus MP3. The sizes shown next to VOD qualities can be wrong, so pick by quality.

Long VODs take time

The server fetches the whole stream before your file is ready, and the page waits up to 20 minutes. In a test on a 194-minute VOD, it was still fetching after 8 minutes, so a stream of several hours may not finish in time.

FAQ

Questions about downloading from Twitch

Can I download a Twitch clip as MP3?

No, a clip saves as MP4 only. Twitch clips give SaveVideo video qualities but no MP3 option. VODs are different: a past broadcast offers MP3 alongside the video qualities, so you can keep the sound of a whole stream, such as a podcast or a music set.

Can I save only part of a VOD?

Yes, with Trim: set a start and an end, and only that part is saved. It isn’t faster, though: a trimmed part of a long VOD takes about as long as the full one, because the server still reads the whole stream before it cuts your part.

Do I need a Twitch account?

No. The Twitch VOD downloader saves VODs and clips that anyone can watch without signing in. Subscriber-only VODs need a login, so SaveVideo can’t save them. To check a link, open it in a private window; to download it, paste it here from a normal window, because SaveVideo doesn’t download in private windows.
